How It Works
The Tiny Repeller heats small repellent mats that contain a mosquito repellent, releasing it into the air as a vapor to create a protective zone around camp. Each mat lasts about 4 hours, and the mats are heated by the device rather than applied directly, so there’s no need to use anything on your skin.
It warms up quickly and offers three modes to adjust coverage depending on your setup:
- Camping Mode: ~10 ft coverage, up to 20 hours
- Outdoor Mode: ~20 ft coverage, up to 10 hours
- Super Mode: ~40 ft coverage, up to 5 hours
The repellent used is D-Allethrin, a synthetic version of a natural insecticide found in chrysanthemums. It’s effective in reducing mosquito activity, as well as helping deter black flies and other biting insects, but worth noting that it is toxic to cats and honeybees.

What stands out most is how versatile this small device is. It creates a consistent zone of protection at camp without sprays or skin contact, which makes a big difference during mosquito season — especially in the evening and early morning when they’re most active.
The three repellent modes make it easy to adjust coverage depending on your setup — whether you’re in a smaller campsite or want a wider perimeter. In typical camping scenarios, it’s been effective at cutting down mosquito activity enough to make relaxing at camp much more comfortable.
Beyond the repellent function, the built-in lantern is a standout feature.
