What I like about the REI Camp Prep Table
When I’m camping in my car during the rainy winter months, I need a sturdy table for cooking under a canopy. I want something that will stand up to the elements, provide a stable cooking surface, and not get knocked around easily.
The Camp Prep Table features high quality materials, including powder-coated aluminum slats for the table top and steel legs. It creates a super stable base with little movement, and the heat resistant top works well for cooking with a camp stove.
To make setting up on uneven ground easier, the legs are adjustable from 22 to 31 inches and use lever locks similar to those on trekking poles. In reviews online, I noticed that some users mentioned issues with the lever locks. However, I find them to be very stable and haven’t had any slippage. Note that the levers can be tightened if they are too loose, which should resolve slippage issues.
For carrying and storage, the table folds in half and includes a protective cover with a handle. It is a bit on the heavy and bulky side, but for me that tradeoff is worth it for a strong and durable table.
